CHARADE
This charming, romantic comedy-thriller that pairs Grant and Hepburn was intelligently scripted by Peter Stone; and directed in distinctly Hitchcockian style by Stanley Donen. The setting is Paris. Only later does she realize that they were after the fortune that her late husband had secreted during World War II. With Peter Joshua's (Academy Award® winner Grant, An Affair To Remember) help, she decides to recover it. GENERATION KILL PART 1: GET SOME
In the northern desert of Kuwait, First Recon Marines prepare to invade Iraq as the "tip of the spear" for Operation Iraqi Freedom. At the Camp Mathilda staging ground, soldiers in First Recon's Bravo Company combat boredom, cramped tents, among others, while awaiting orders from Col. Stephen "Godfather" Ferrando. A writer from Rolling Stone magazine is also embedded with Bravo's five-vehicle Platoon 2 unit. After an unexpected mass delivery of pizza, the soldiers finally break camp, pack up their Humvees, and cross the northern border into Iraq – and an uncertain future.
Starring: Alexander Skarsgard

GENERATION KILL PART 2: THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATION
Under orders to consider any Iraqi carrying a weapon hostile, Bravo busts north towards Nasiriyah. Prompted by an anxious Major General Mattis, Ferrando orders Bravo to cross the Euphrates the next night, but they end up entering Nasiriyah by day, driving through the city with minimal gunfire, save for an AK-47 assault by Platoon 3 leader "Captain America" McGraw on an empty car. Heading north to Mesopotamia, Bravo continues to lag behind other companies, partly because of a wrong turn. Chomping at the bit while others are carrying the fight, the platoon finally gets "lit up" in a violent but successful skirmish in Al Gharraf, during which Trombley scores his first kill. Elated and relatively unscathed, the platoon celebrates its triumph.
Starring: Alexander Skarsgard

GENERATION KILL PART 3: SCREWBY
Having survived its first trial by fire, Bravo presses forward, awaiting orders for a new recon mission. Scoping out a roadside hamlet, the company watches in horror and disbelief as a regimental combat team arrives with guns firing and the hamlet is obliterated. On new orders, Bravo heads to the town of Ar Rifa, where Fick tries to take control of a dangerous situation created by Encino Man, who requests an artillery strike on a phantom RPG team. After Alpha Company shells the town, Ferrando issues a new, more urgent order: push ahead 40 kilometers and capture an airstrip controlled by Iraq's Republican Guard and defended by tanks.
Starring: Alexander Skarsgard

GENERATION KILL PART 4: COMBAT JACK
Having raced to capture the airfield, First Recon is now miles ahead of the rest of the American force and has some time to rest and regroup. The abandoned supply truck has been looted and destroyed and the company is now down to one meal a day. After expressing their dismay to their commander, Alpha is tasked with a different mission: to recover the body of a captured Marine who was murdered in Ah Shatra, which takes a twist when a CIA-trained army of Iraqi Freedom Fighters arrives and then just as quickly departs. Meanwhile, Bravo pushes north, clearing hamlets and facing heavy fire. Along the way, Trombley is able to redeem himself, at least a bit in the eyes of his fellow Marines. As Alpha heads into Ah Shatra, Bravo sets up a roadblock outside of Al Hayy. The men debate the proper protocol to stop cars, but it's a fine line between being cautious and putting oneself at risk. Bravo steps off as Alpha returns to the fold, having raised more questions with their mission in Ah Shatra than they answered.
Starring: Alexander Skarsgard

GENERATION KILL PART 5: A BURNING DOG
As they scope a tiny hamlet, the men of Bravo are frustrated by the capricious nature of the war, and Colbert struggles to defend the actions of the higher-ups. First Recon finally gets a chance to use their skills and exploit some intelligence from Iraqi locals about an ambush at a bridge ahead. For once, First Recon isn't tasked with heading straight into the ambush, but instead gets to rest and watch as better armed LAVs assault the bridge. With the ambush thought to be quelled, Colbert's team is ordered to lead Bravo across the bridge. They quickly discover that the enemy combatants still have some fight in them, but led by Colbert, they manage to escape almost unscathed. After regrouping, Bravo is ordered to cross the bridge again, this time with Bravo 3 in the lead, and again hits a snag. The following morning, First Recon examines the bodies of the men they fought the night before, and discover their enemy is not who they imagined. Bravo continues north to Al Muwafaqiyah, where they are tasked with setting up another roadblock and with destroying the Republican Guard outpost, which, unfortunately, is in the town's only school. Despite Colbert's exhortations to the men to hold their fire unless it’s absolutely necessary, Bravo has an incident at the road block. As they again head north, the inexactitude of the war weighs heavily on the men.
Starring: Alexander Skarsgard

GENERATION KILL PART 6: STAY FROSTY
Outside of Al Kut, Captain America is over-eager in his attempts to subdue a prisoner, while his men's growing disillusionment with his command is growing more apparent. Meanwhile, Ferrando relays to his officers the news that his counterpart in the Regimental Combat Team has been relieved of duty despite achieving his objective. Encino Man takes Ferrando's speech to heart and puts Fick on notice that there will be no more questioning of his orders. First Recon's next mission is to escort civilians fleeing from Baghdad down the highway. The men are overcome by the humanity and try to help, which gives Fick pause. Colbert and the others realize that with Baghdad being the next stop for the American forces, their war has probably come to an end, which rankles Ferrando, who itches to get back in the game. After reuniting with an old friend who tells horror stories about the Marine reservists, First Recon heads to Baqubah, a town north of Baghdad, to go up against Iraqi armor – with those same reservists in tow. Despite some mishaps along the way, the mission is successful, and the Marines take some prisoners. Unfortunately, Sgt. Eric Kocher, Colbert's counterpart in Bravo 3, and one of his men are accused by a reservist of mistreating a prisoner. First Recon heads back to Baghdad, unsure of what their role will be in the city.
Starring: Alexander Skarsgard

GENERATION KILL PART 7: BOMB IN THE GARDEN
Bravo reaches Baghdad, and sets up shop in an abandoned cigarette factory. Hampered by having only one translator for the battalion, First Recon can only send out sporadic patrols into the city. During those patrols they discover that the list of problems the Iraqis face is much greater than the Marines could imagine. While Colbert worries about his friend Kocher, who has been demoted, Fick becomes more disillusioned with the lack of a plan in Baghdad, and refuses an order that would put his men in danger. The men learn their final night in Baghdad is upon them and celebrate in a soccer stadium.

THE WIRE 01: THE TARGET
Set in West Baltimore, The Wire charts the activities of a joint homicide/narcotics detail created to investigate a single drug-dealing operation in several apartment complexes. As the series begins, the drug ring’s leaders have used their significant powers of intimidation to get one of their young sellers off a murder rap. Disgusted, homicide detective Jimmy McNulty vents to the presiding judge that the gang is responsible for as many as ten unsolved murders – a lament that gets him assigned to a new, ragtag detail that nobody seems to want.

THE WIRE 02: THE DETAIL
A witness who testified against D’Angelo has been found slain, putting even more heat on McNulty. Daniels is frustrated that “deadwood” is being dumped into his detail; case in point is trigger-happy “Prez” Pryzbylewski, who accidentally shoots a hole in the office his first day. Angered that a white friend was beaten up after a drug scam, a black “fiend” named Bubbles gives Greggs the lay of the land at the Terrace, defining the roles of Barksdale’s key players. McNulty brings D’Angelo in for questioning, and convinces him to write a letter of apology to the dead witness’ “family”.

THE WIRE 03: THE BUYS
The early-morning “field interviews” by Herc, Carver and Prez have led to a minor riot, a boy losing an eye, and some bad publicity for the police. As a reward for taking the heat, Daniels is promised support from his superiors, sort of. As Rawls and Bunk try to downplay the incident, McNulty sends Mahone and Polk to the Terrace to get a photo of the elusive Barksdale, but it’s Freamon who ends up getting the picture. While D’Angelo teaches Wallace and Bodie how to play chess, McNulty and Gregg visit FBI Agent Terrance Fitzhugh for some surveillance gear.

THE WIRE 04: OLD CASES
As arraignment begins for those caught in the raid, Mahone celebrates getting out of the force due to injury, while encouraging his partner Polk to do the same. Greggs and McNulty try to get Hardcase to turn informant in exchange for a reduced sentence. Herc and Carver make a long road trip to interrogate a recuperating Bodie, but come up empty. Barksdale places a bounty on the head of Omar, leader of the gang that ripped him off.

THE WIRE 05: THE PAGER
McNulty’s detail finally gets clone pagers in an attempt to get the edge on Barksdale and his gang. Trouble is, nobody can crack the code used by callers to cover their calls. Bell teaches D’Angelo how to “school” his lookouts, at the same time flushing out a possible snitch in the low rises. Carver and Herc finally track down Bodie, but find him equally elusive under interrogation. As Bunk looks to ballistics to connect several murders to the Barksdale crew, Prez (of all people) cracks the pager-code mystery. Omar finds his associates disappearing with alarming frequency.

THE WIRE 06: THE WIRE
With Rawls looking to make a premature murder arrest in three murders linked to D’Angelo and Avon Barksdale, McNulty and Greggs turn to an unlikely ally to secure a delay in the case and preserve the significant wiretap gains being made: Daniels. While Wallace and D’Angelo struggle with their consciences after receiving “blood money” from Avon, Omar decides to turn witness after seeing his lover Brandon’s mutilated body. Bubbles joins fellow junkies Johnny and Hucklebuck in a crime caper. Having lost the war to get immediate search warrants, Rawls redoubles his efforts to screw McNulty.

THE WIRE 07: ONE ARREST
Tipped off by the wire, Greggs, Herc, Carver and Freamon look to bust a “re-up” (drug restocking) in the low rises. Their effort pays off, but the bust makes Avon and Stringer suspicious, leading them to close shop in the Pit. Bunk and McNulty track down another eyewitness to the Gant murder, and turn to Omar to help them hunt down “Mr. Bird”, the suspect. Bubbles and Greggs help Johnny get off his drug rap with probation and treatment, Orlando proposes a deal with D’Angelo, and Santangelo turns to a fortune teller to solve an old case.

THE WIRE 08: LESSONS
McNulty gets the tag of a car driven by Stringer Bell from an unlikely source. Greggs and Carver bust a congressional aide toting a bag full of dirty cash, but are forced to let him go on orders from Burrell. Omar earns his "loose cannon" moniker in a violent street encounter with Wee-Bey and Stinkum.

THE WIRE 09: GAME DAY
Barksdale finds himself playing an expensive game of one-upmanship with his east-side rival, Proposition Joe, for bragging rights in the Projects. Freamon schools Prez and Sydnor in how to trace Barksdale’s finances to “front” companies in Baltimore. Herc and Carver take some cash off of Wee-Bey’s hands, but end up misplacing some of the loot. Bubbles decides to go fishing; Greggs and Freamon try to “turn” Shardene; and Omar resurfaces with a bang, again.

THE WIRE 10: THE COST
With Wallace in custody, McNulty and Daniels try to figure out what to do with him the months before he testifies. Sydnor and Carver track down one of Barksdale’s stash houses, and Prez shows off his “gift for the paper trail”. McNulty’s estranged wife Elena takes desperate measures after learning that he had their kids follow Stringer Bell. Proposition Joe brokers a meeting between Omar and Bell, but Omar isn’t sure he can trust Barksdale’s truce offer. Orlando, who always wanted to be in The Game, finds himself playing into the hands of a state undercover officer named Wiggins.

THE WIRE 11: THE HUNT
After the disastrous buy-bust shooting, the police turn up the heat on tracking down Savino, Wee-Bey and Little Man. Burrell orders Daniels to hit drug dealers with an all-out assault that will put “dope on the damn table” for the press to admire. Barksdale sees his ranks thinning after the hit on Orlando, which forces Wee-Bey to leave town and leads to Savino’s arrest. Bubbles tries to stay sober while scooping out the projects for McNulty; and Freamon determines there’s a rat in the detail.

THE WIRE 12: CLEANING UP
The low-rise pay phones are out of service, so McNulty and Daniels try to keep pace by tapping Barksdale's office. Wallace returns to the projects from his shore sabbatical; Bodie gets some new responsibilities from Stringer; Freamon gives Shardene a "new look"; and D'Angelo goes to NYC on an errand for his uncle. With the detail's future hanging in the balance, Daniels faces off against Burrell and his political allies, countering the Deputy Commissioner's unveiled threats with some of his own.

THE WIRE 13: SENTENCING
Every crew has weak links – including Avon Barksdale's. With the heat turned up in the high-rises, Daniels and McNulty turn to a higher authority in an effort to crack the case wide open. Brianna Barksdale joins her brother in their new "corporate digs"; Freamon and Bunk try to trace a crucial phone call from Philly; Pearlman and McNulty celebrate a successful "flip"; defenders haggle with the DA over plea-bargain scenarios, and D'Angelo envisions a life outside the drug culture – finally.
